The Grapehound Wine Tour^®-Virginia will be held May 11-13, 2012 in Leesburg Virginia.

Our main host winery will be Lost Creek Winery, north of Leesburg on Route 15. Vending this year in our huge vendor tent will be held both Friday afternoon (12-4PM) and again all day Saturday.

Our Welcome Event on Friday evening will again be hosted by North Gate Vineyards near Purcellville.

On Sunday we will have music and wine tasting at Willowcroft Vineayrds just south of Leesburg.

Registration by mail and by Paypal will open January 2nd. You can make your hotel reservations with our participating hotels now. Leesburg hotels fill quickly so don't wait.

Welcome on Friday

Our Welcome Event will again be held Friday evening at the beautiful solar powered tasting room of North Gate Vineyards near Purcellville, VA, not far from Leesburg. Barely one year old, this spectacular winery venue has hardwood floors, big stone fireplaces and spacious outdoor covered porches where we will serve wine and hors d'oeuvres while you mix and mingle with vendors, adoption group coordinators and old friends. Better yet, owners Mark and Vicki Fedor own their own greyhound! We haven't found a more greyhound friendly winery yet!

Our Main Event on Saturday

Our main event on Saturday will be at Lost Creek Winery, just north of Leesburg. Lost Creek Winery is a spacious venue and will feature

large greyhound vendor tents for indoor shopping,
a large selection of vendors, many new to Grapehounds,
musical entertainment for the afternoon,
wine tasting at Lost Creek and Hidden Brook Winery, next door,
plenty of space to hang out and socialize,
doggie babysitting for some local exploration,
food available from Uncle Moe's Soul Food.

The Weekend Continues!

Sunday we will be at Willowcroft Vineyards, a rustic, charming little winery located in a historic barn in Loudoun County, just south of Leesburg, with views of the nearby foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Registration

Please use this form to register by mail. Advance registration for Grapehounds Virginia is $30 but closes May 6, 2012. Wine tasting tickets for our participating wineries at the door are $35.

Registration includes wine tastings at a number of local wineries, a commemorative Virginia wine glass, a Virginia greyhound adoption car magnet, two days of musical entertainment, the Welcome with hors d'oeuvres on Friday, wine tasting at several local wineries in addition to our three host wineries, and other favors. Registration by mail for Grapehounds Virginia is now open for 2012.

Hotels

Here is a list of area hotels with whom we have an agreement.

Lost Creek Winery will serve as our base of operations for vending, food,
music and wine tasting on Saturday, May 12th.

We anticipate having several additional wineries, in addition to our host wineries, available for wine tasting in the Loudoun County area.

Vendors

Grapehounds - Virginia has brought the old Dewey Beach vendor tent back to Virginia! We will have a huge wedding tent with our vendors in it for your "indoor" shopping convenience.

If the sun is warm, or there's a passing shower, just doesn't matter, because you'll be able to shop with your hounds in "indoor" comfort!

We will announce later this spring what vendors will be tasting wine with us in Leesburg this May! If you wish to vend with us, contact Larry at Grapehound@ Gmail.com.

Grapehounds-Virginia T-shirt

We will offer a very reasonably priced Grapehound Wine Tour - Virginia T-shirt for sale again this year, with all proceeds going to our ten participating adoption groups.

Greyhound adoption groups selling and earning all proceeds from these shirts are GPA-Maryland, Fast Friends Greyhound Rescue, Greyhound Rescue, Virginia Greyhound Adoption (VAGA), Northern Virginia GPA, Richmond GPA, Colonial Greyhound Adoption, Blue Ridge Greyhound Adoption, Star City Greyhounds, and Greyhound Welfare.

Silent Auction

We will auction off some great baskets donated by each of the participating Virginia adoption groups with all proceeds for their benefit. Vendors and friends of greyhound adoption are encouraged to donate a silent auction basket to benefit the nine participating Virginia area greyhound adoption groups.

Our Virginia wineries are in the middle of horse country.

Wylie Wagg pet stores will again be providing us with all the pet baggies for picking up after greyhounds during this weekend of wine tasting and celebration and helping us to keep all our participating wineries pristine.
