The Grapehound Wine Tour® works very closely with participating hotels. Below are hotels with whom we have an arrangement to reserve a block of rooms for greyhound owners and allow multiple greyhounds at reduced rates the weekend of May 10-12, 2013, waiving or reducing pet fees.
Ask for the Grapehound Wine Tour® room block at your desired hotel. Please call your hotel directly for your reservation, not the hotel chain's 800 reservation line. Only the hotel's front desk has information on the discounted, rooms with pet fees waived for our event.
Why aren't the hotels close to the wineries?
Wineries are located in the country while hotels are in city or suburban centers. As with all wine events, the hotels are located a distance from the wineries.
The Leesburg hotels are fairly close to most of our wineries. North Gate Vineyards is west of Leesburg, near Purcellville, VA. About five miles away from North Gate Vineyards, also near Purcellville, is a new winery on our tour, 868 Estate Vineyards. Our main host winery on Friday and Saturday, Lost Creek Winery, is about 9.6 miles north of Leesburg. Next door is Hidden Brook Winery. On Sunday we convene just south of Leesburg, just off Route 15 at two wineries, Willowcroft Vineyards and Quattro Goombas winery. Also avaialble for tasting is a little winery in western Leesburg called Dry Mill Winery.
You will enjoy this beautiful part of Virginia in spring, when the countryside is coming alive with blooms.
We have some great hotels ready to host you at our event, offering discounted room rates and waiving all pet fees. Rooms rates dip as low as $89 (or lower) a night near Dulles airport.
Cutoff Dates We reserve "blocks" of rooms for Grapehounds folks in the Leesburg area. To protect the hotels occupancy, our reserved room blocks expire usually about 30 days before the event. That means that while only Grapehound folks can register for one of our rooms up to the cutoff date, after the cutoff date anyone can book one of our rooms. Starting avout April 12thm the rooms in Leesburg will desappear fast, as there are other events going on at that time.
Don't hesitate to make your reservation now, as the Leesburg hotels will fill up fast.
Our hotels have rolled out the red carpet for us by giving us great rates, waiving pet fees, and welcoming mutiple hounds. They love greyhounds! Please patronize them.
